This is a private reference site, not a public office. We cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Direct those requests to the government custodian that holds the information.

For current county jail or booking questions, start with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office: 9896 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035. Main: 440-329-3709. Records Division: 440-329-3703. Inmate information and booking: 440-329-3770. Non-emergency communications: 440-329-3710. The warrants and fugitive tip line is 440-284-0615. Emergency calls belong to 911.
The Records Division lists public-service hours of Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Its records-policy contact window is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hours can change, so verify them before visiting. Public inspection is free; paper copies are $0.10 per page, mailed paper requires prepaid postage, and other media cost the actual amount charged. Use the sheriff’s official records-request form for a booking record, inspection, paper copy, or electronic delivery.
- For a current county-custody search or bond information, use the official Lorain County Tyler inmate search or the sheriff’s Inmates/Jail page. The home page explains the source path, but the sheriff controls the records.
- For a city-held report or a city-police question, use the relevant agency’s official channel: Lorain Police, Elyria Police records, or North Ridgeville Police public records.
- For a court case or disposition after booking, search the official Lorain County Clerk case portal. A case docket and a custody roster answer different questions.
- For a person in Ohio prison custody, supervision, or judicial release, use the ODRC Offender Search, not the county roster.
- For a federal inmate, use the BOP inmate locator. For an eligible immigration detainee, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator; neither is a Lorain County booking-photo source.
